My two-year-old granddaughter had some ear pain at the park, and I kept watching it to see if she was okay. We got back to my house, and I gave her a bath. She started crying, saying that her ear hurt. I finished her bath and was getting her dressed when her face turned red. She kept rubbing at her ear, screaming and crying.
I knew that she probably had started to get an ear infection because we had been in the pool for 4 days straight. I rubbed 4 drops of Lavender oil around her ear, and within minutes she stopped crying and acted like she was fine.
Since I was babysitting and it was early evening, I did take her to the urgent care facility. My granddaughter seemed so good when we got there. The doctor said, "Wow, she seems fine; why are you here?"
I said, "She was crying earlier and pulling at her ear, so I wanted to have it checked just in case." The doctor said, "Yes, she has a very bad ear infection."
The doctor was so surprised that my granddaughter was not crying. I do believe the Lavender had helped with the pain.
