Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

It was several years ago that I was a practicing canine myo therapist, Reiki practitioner, and essential oil promoter.

I was asked to help a dog in acute renal failure (ARF) at a local animal hospital. Her blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine levels were "off the charts," and vets were recommending euthanasia.

I worked with her for 1.5 hours using essential oils. I used Juniper and Geranium, as they are supportive of the kidneys. I also used Peppermint for appetite and the Valor oil blend for courage.

The dog's blood values dropped after that first session, and I met with her 3 more times, varying essential oils depending upon muscle testing. Some tests showed the need for the Release oil blend, and other times I used the Joy and Forgiveness blends with Lemongrass and Cistus.

The dog left the hospital a few days later and lived a long and happy life.

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: puppy-/-dog-/-canine — "Idiopathic vestibular syndrome is the most common cause of peripheral vestibular disease in dogs and, despite its dramatic clinical presentation, can improve without intervention."Link
2.Associated topics: kidney-disease,kidneys — "Many plant extracts that protect against the development of oxidative stress manifest clear antilithiasic activity [preventing the formation of or relieving the symptoms of kidney stones].... Evidence obtained to date supports a contributory role of polyphenols [present in essential oils] in the prevention of cardiovascular disease, some cancer types, and osteoporosis.... The results show an improvement of the renal function in some treated groups with an increase of diuresis and creatinine excretion due to polyphenols pretreatment. Our results clearly validate the ability of polyphenols to protect against papillary calcification of kidney tissue, consequently preventing the development of papillary calculi [kidney stones].... The collective findings to date support a protective effect of polyphenols on kidney tissue. Thus, considering that injury of papillary tissue constitutes the first step in the development of COM papillary calculi, the antioxidant action of polyphenols may contribute significantly to their antilithiasic action."Link
3.Associated topics: puppy-/-dog-/-canine — "[T]opical fatty acids and essential oils are a useful treatment option for canine atopic dermatitis."Link
4.Associated topics: appetite — "Co-administration of the lime essential oil and ketotifen caused significant suppression in gaining weight, as well as decreased body weights of mice. The data obtained in this study suggested that lime essential oil plays an important role in weight loss and could be useful in the treatment of drug-induced obesity and related diseases."Link
