My little Cocker Spaniel impaled himself on a rusty piece of farm equipment. He was left with a two inch tear of his skin that exposed his underlying muscle. There was little to no bleeding because it did not tear any blood vessels.
I did not want to put any disinfectant on him that would sting, for fear he would not let me treat the wound. I also was quite a wimp and didn't want or know how to wash it for the same reasons.
I chose to first dilute Helichrysum to 50%, with 2 drops jojoba oil and apply directly in the open wound knowing that it would help ease pain and does not sting. The wound closed up considerable by the next day. I decided to dilute the Thieves oil blend to 50% and pour that directly in twice a day.
I continued that for five days, and we are left with a simple scab and not a trace of infection. The diluted Thieves did not bother my dog a bit, and I can't believe it cleared up without infection.
Unbelievable yes, but true.
