Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), which is a hereditary disease caused by a defective gene that produces collagen. Collagen is in all connective tissue.

Therefore, my knees, 5 out of 10 fingers, my left hip, and the top 3 vertebrae in my neck dislocate. I wear splints and braces to help prevent further dislocations, but these joints and others are constantly aching and throbbing, especially with weather changes or moving.

Since I found Young Living essential oils and have begun using them on a daily basis, I have much less pain... and on some days no pain! I even have fewer dislocations occurring. My joints are feeling more stable too.

I use the PanAway oil blend, Lemongrass, and Wintergreen topically. I also carry a Deep Relief roll-on with me at all times. At first I used them every couple of hours. As time went on and the pain decreased, I was able to stretch out time between applications.

I still will use them more often when the weather is bad or after a dislocation has happened, like the night my husband rolled over in bed and his elbow landed on my hands, dislocating both of my thumbs. I use a "Morphine Bomb" combination of oils for extreme pain. I used it that night for sure!

I am so thankful I learned about these oils because pain meds do not really help pain for EDS patients. The oils are the only thing I have found that has made a difference.

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: joints — "Ruxiang (Gummi olibanum), the dried gum resin of Boswellia carterii (BC) [frankincense], has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to alleviate pain and inflammation for thousands of years.... The data show that BC extract has significant anti-arthritic and anti-inflammation effects and suggest that these effects may be mediated via the suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines."Link
2.Associated topics: collagen, joints — "We have demonstrated that Boswellia frereana [frankincense] prevents collagen degradation, and inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory mediators and MMPs. Due to its efficacy we propose that B. frereana should be examined further as a potential therapeutic agent for treating inflammatory symptoms associated with arthritis."Link
3.Associated topics: joints — "Herbalists treat skin ailments, such as fungal infections (like candidiasis), wounds, eczema, and acne, with lavender oil. It is also used in a healing bath for joint and muscle pain. One study evaluating treatments for children with eczema found [that] it was therapeutic touch from the mother that improved symptoms; in other words, massage with and without essential oils (including lavender) both reduced the dry, scaly skin lesions. Another study found that lavender oil may improve pain control after surgery."Link
