I suffer from cold sores on the eye, and it is extremely painful. Upon the birth of my last child, I had quite a nasty attack, and my upper eyelid was covered in cold sore blisters. They typically last 7 to 10 days.
On approximately the fifth day, I was not seeing any sign of them going away. And with a new baby, I needed some relief!
I dabbed Peppermint oil on a tissue and applied to my upper eyelid. As Peppermint is so concentrated, it did sting. I also had some pure olive oil on another tissue to dab the eye after application.
By the next day my cold sores cleared up, and I still can't believe it!
