Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

During my pregnancy with my 5th child, I battled kidney stones for the first time ever. The first attack came on so suddenly and violently that my husband called for an ambulance and had me rushed to the hospital. I was in more pain that I have experienced during any of my natural home births. The only thing that would relieve the pain was IV stadol, which was hard for me to accept, since I had not taken so much as an ibuprofen capsule in several years.

After that hospital stay, I studied up on kidney stones and essential oils. When the next round hit, I applied Juniper and the Purification oil blend over the kidney, took several drops of Lemon oil in capsules, as well as the "morphine bomb." Put 5 drops each Frankincense, Idaho Balsam Fir and Copaiba in a capsule. I applied the Deep Relief oil blend topically for the pain. I filled a 16 ounce glass with the following:

* 1-2 ounces NingXia Red juice
* a splash of apple cider vinegar
* a splash of Lemon juice
* several drops of Lemon essential oil
* filled the rest of the way with water

I also applied a warm compress and the episode passed within an hour. I continued to drink the above mixture throughout the day. I had one more attack which also passed quickly, using the same oils listed above.

I will also add that I had a Zyto scan, and after the last attack I scanned for Mineral Essence. My ankles had been swelling every day, which I not experienced in previous pregnancies and which I knew was most likely related to my kidneys. The day I started Mineral Essence, the swelling left and never returned.

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: pregnancy — "The methods of aromatherapy were applied sitz bath or soap application using essential oils with Lavender, Myrrh, Neroli, Rose, Grapefruit, Mandarin, Orange, and Roman Chamomile.... [T]hese findings indicate that postpartum aromatherapy for perineal care could be effective in healing the perineum."Link
2.Associated topics: edema-/-dropsy — "[W]e studied the anti-inflammatory and gastroprotective effects of C. citratus [Lemongrass] and E. citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus] essential oils on formol-induced edema and acetic acid induced abdominal cramps in Wistar rats.... In vivo analysis and histological assay showed that the two essential oils displayed significant dose-dependent edema [swelling] inhibition effect over time. They displayed strong analgesic [pain-relieving] and antipyretic [fever-reducing] properties similar to that induced by 50 mg/kg of acetylsalicylate of lysine.... This work demonstrates the anti-inflammatory property of Cymbopogon citratus [Lemongrass] and Eucalyptus citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus], suggesting their potential role as adjuvant therapeutic alternatives in dealing with inflammatory-related diseases."Link
3.Associated topics: kidney-stones,kidneys — "Many plant extracts that protect against the development of oxidative stress manifest clear antilithiasic activity [preventing the formation of or relieving the symptoms of kidney stones].... Evidence obtained to date supports a contributory role of polyphenols [present in essential oils] in the prevention of cardiovascular disease, some cancer types, and osteoporosis.... The results show an improvement of the renal function in some treated groups with an increase of diuresis and creatinine excretion due to polyphenols pretreatment. Our results clearly validate the ability of polyphenols to protect against papillary calcification of kidney tissue, consequently preventing the development of papillary calculi [kidney stones].... The collective findings to date support a protective effect of polyphenols on kidney tissue. Thus, considering that injury of papillary tissue constitutes the first step in the development of COM papillary calculi, the antioxidant action of polyphenols may contribute significantly to their antilithiasic action."Link
