My husband sprained his ankle badly the other day at work (a Monday). He went to the Urgent Care Clinic and was told to stay off it for one week and take Motrin.

When he got home, about 6 hours after the injury took place, I applied the PanAway oil blend all around the outside area of his ankle and up the outer portion of his leg. We did apply a cold pack every hour for 15 minutes. Every waking hour we applied an oil, rotating between the PanAway and Valor blends and Peppermint.

I made up capsules of 5 drops Copaiba, 5 drops Frankincense and 5 drops Peppermint. He took one every 4 hours for the first 16 hours. The second day he took one cap every 6 hours and we rotated the same topical oils about every 2 waking hours. By the third day he was taking one cap every 8 hours and oils only applied topically every 4 hours or so. The forth day he went back to work.

He reported a major decrease in pain an hour after the first capsule was taken. By the second day no pain, just stiffness. As the hours and days went by, the stiffness lessened. He was able to apply full weight by the 5th day.
