I bought a series of DVDs for a seminar I wanted to take. On top of each DVD at the centre, to anchor it in the case for shipping, was a little foam cap. As I took off the cap to release the DVD from the case I noticed that the cap was very sticky.

When I looked at the underside of the DVD I saw a blob of the glue. I tried to gently pick it off with my finger but all I did was smear it even more. I tried to play the DVD and of course it got stuck and would not spin.

I was so disappointed as the course was quite expensive. I thought, well I have nothing to lose as it won't work anyway, so I put a tiny bit of Lemon oil on the tip of my finger and rubbed gently on the gluey mess. It came off immediately!

I gently removed the tiny bit of oil residue from the DVD with a soft lintless cloth. I put it back in the DVD player and it played perfectly! Happily I continued learning my seminar lessons and didn't miss a thing.

Also, no damage done to the DVD!
