Kitchen moth infestation

Those pesky kitchen moths, also referred to as cupboard moths, were out of control in my kitchen and my home! So last weekend, I tackled all my kitchen cabinets. I took everything out of them, and looked through each item. If I saw a moth or larvae, out in the trash it went. All other food items I had that these moths might be interested in, that didn't show any sign of their habitation, went in a separate pile for the freezer. I read that putting these food items in the freezer for 3 days will destroy all parts of the moth's life. I do this now with all food items (e.g. cereal, rice, nutts, bread crumbs, crackers, etc...) as soon as I come home from the supermarket, before they even enter my home.
Once cabinets have been completely emptied, I vacuumed every corner and then saturated them with Thieves cleaner. After a few minutes, I wiped out the cabinets and started filling them back up with the canned goods and other salvagable items that didn't need to be frozen.
After items were placed back in cabinets, I put about 5 drops of YL cedarwood on cotton balls and placed them in each cabinet. The cabinets now smell great and are moth-free. Every few days, I refresh the cotton balls with cedarwood and place them right back in the cabinets. Occasionally (but rarely), I'll see a straggler flying about (probably ventured from upstairs), and one shot of my Thieves cleaner, and he's a gonner!
I plan on cleaning out my cabinets once a month, as I've just explained, so I never have to go through an infestation like this again. I also read that moths hate bay leaves...so they're on my shopping list. They can be placed directly on food items stored in the cabinets (e.g. flour, rice, pet food, etc.) safely!
