I had gone to bible school ALL WEEK! I thought I had several spider bites on my right side-back a little above the waistline. I had been working outside and being sweaty, just assumed that I had gotten spider bitten on Monday. I applied a product called Living Clay to my area of bites, thinking that it would draw out the venom.

By Thursday night, I was pacing the floor in the fellowship hall. One of my clients/friends asked me how my back was. I told him that I'm getting worse and the pain is incredible! I showed this to his wife, and SHE told me that I had shingles-that her uncle had them previously and that's exactly what they looked like! It is caused by the same virus as chicken pox and sometimes called herpes zoster.

I started home that night, and almost couldn't drive home. The pain was like having the end stage of baby contractions! It came in spasms in regular contraction times! By the time I got home, I headed up to my daughter's room and crawled on the bed on my hands and knees sobbing and rocking back and forth. Yes. It was that bad.

My massage therapist daughter and my best friend, got together and applied the PanAway, Exodus, Immupower oil blends along with Peppermint to the area of the shingles. They sealed it in with the clay and wrapped me in plastic wrap to keep it in place and moist. The pain immediately started to subside.

Within 30 minutes, I could sleep and slept most of the night. (I took some Immunpower caps internally, too) When the pain started to return we reapplied the PanAway and Peppermint. The pain was gone. The shingles never broke open or oozed. They just dried up!

I went back to bible school the next night. I was sore and weak from the attack-but life went on! I reapplied for about the next 4 days until the soreness left. It was amazing. I've heard of them lasting for months for some people!

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: herpes — "The presence of beta-caryophyllene in many essential oils might contribute strongly to their antiviral ability. These results indicate that phenylpropanoids and sesquiterpenes present in essential oils contribute to their antiviral activity against HSV [herpes simplex virus]."Link
2.Associated topics: immune-system — "DHEA [a component of PD 80/20], an androstene hormone [precursor to estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, cortisone, and other hormones], has been shown to possess a wide range of beneficial biological effects mainly attributed to immune system modulation.... thus leading to beneficial effects in diverse human diseases including resistance to infection, neuroprotection, wound healing, diabetes, hepatic injury, cardiovascular disease, and cancer."Link
3.Associated topics: immune-system — "Immunomodulatory activity of frankincense oil: Biologically, the oil exhibited a strong immunostimulant activity (90% lymphocyte transformation) when assessed by a lymphocyte proliferation assay."Link
4.Associated topics: immune-system — "Anti-inflammatory, spasmolytic [muscle spasms], antimicrobial, antioxidant, carminative [flatulence] and immunomodulatory properties of caraway suggest that it might exert beneficial effects on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).... CHE and CEO [caraway essential oil] at all doses tested were effective in reducing colon tissue lesions and colitis indices and the efficacy was nearly the same when different doses of plant fractions were administered p.o. or i.p..... These data suggest that caraway fractions are both effective and possess anti-colitic activity irrespective of the dose and route of administration."Link
5.Associated topics: nerve-pain,herpes,shingles — "The patient was successfully treated with topical peppermint oil [for postherpetic neuralgia, a complication of shingles].... The authors believe this is the first evidence of peppermint oil (or menthol) having a strong analgesic effect on neuropathic pain."Link
6.Associated topics: nerve-pain — "Ameliorative effects of Ocimum sanctum [holy basil] in sciatic nerve transection-induced neuropathy...."Link
7.Associated topics: itching-(Pruritus) — "[T]ea tree oil seems to be a more effective anti-eczematic agent than zinc oxide and clobetasone butyrate...."Link
8.Associated topics: herpes — "Essential oils from anise, hyssop, thyme, ginger, camomile and sandalwood were screened for their inhibitory effect against herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) [genital herpes]. A clearly dose-dependent virucidal activity against HSV-2 could be demonstrated for all essential oils tested. Chamomile oil exhibited a high selectivity index and seems to be a promising candidate for topical therapeutic application as virucidal agents for treatment of herpes genitalis."Link
