My baby has suffered from pretty extreme teething pain since she was about 4 months old. As recommended by my naturopathic doctor, I diluted the Thieves oil blend 1 drop to 30 drops of V-6 oil.
I put this in a small vial and then dab it on my finger and apply to my baby's gums when she seems to be bothered by teething (2-6 times a day). She loves the taste and feels comforted when we offer her something to ease the pain.
Thieves is an anti-inflammatory as well as an anti-bacterial so it helps keep the area that the teeth are coming into clean and reduces swelling which often causes the pain. It also helped sooth her when she would wake crying in the middle of the night. My daughter is now 20 months and asks for the oil when her teeth are bothering her!
If nothing else it sends her the message that we love her and do what we can to help even if we can't completely stop the pain and that seems to be soothing enough at times.
This is a good message for kids at any age, don't you wish you could just offer your teenager some Thieves oil?
