Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

My 18-year-old daughter has never had strep throat until this year. She had a bout in June with white-coated tonsils, severe pain, and "kissing" tonsils meaning they met in the middle and she couldn't get much air through. She had a powerful antibiotic injection that didn't rid her of the infection and two weeks later she was feeling awful again so saw a doctor who wrote her a round of oral antibiotics which made her very constipated.

Last week, she had the same presentation of symptoms but not quite as bad. Having recently been introduced to Young Living Oils and products, I decided to attack this infection with several oils I have bought in the last few months.

Not wanting the infection to reach the point it did earlier, I armed myself with knowledge gleaned from other testimonials. My method was two drops of Oregano, two drops of Thieves, four drops of Lavender, and four drops of Lemon oils in a dental irrigator I had saved from when she had her wisdom teeth out.

We did this four times a day. This really burned the first few times I squirted this over her tonsils and back of her throat, but as the white coating receded, so did the burning sensation.

In two days the tonsils were free of white patches and in two more they were almost back to normal size. She missed three days of school last week, but went back feeling fine this week. Since her lymph glands are still a little puffy on her neck I am using this concoction twice a day until all signs are gone.

We also diffused Purification and Thieves and had her inhale that several times a day. I rubbed her neck with V-6 and RC twice a day, and gave her foot rubs with various oils.

I am so thankful to have been introduced to Young Living Essential Oils and will never again be without them! She is much healthier with so many side benefits rather than side effects that she suffered with before. May God bless Gary Young and all the people working in this company to provide the best "medicines" on earth!

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: sore-/-scratchy-throat — "The antibacterial activity of 14 essential oils and their major constituents in the gaseous state was evaluated against [respiratory tract pathogens] Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Staphylococcus aureus. [The] oils [with cinnamon bark, lemongrass, and thyme being most potent] and their major constituents were shown to be effective against various bacteria tested.... These results indicate that the antibacterial action of essential oils was most effective when at high vapor concentration for a short time."Link
2.Associated topics: tonsillitis,sore-/-scratchy-throat — "Streptococcus pyogenes [strep] plays an important role in the pathogenesis of tonsillitis.... [T]hyme, cinnamon, lemongrass, tea tree, lavender, oregano, clove, palmarosa, or cajeput [melaleuca] EOs [essential oils] are known to be active against Streptococcus pyogenes, while oregano, basil, mint [peppermint], rosemary, and lavender EOs are known to inhibit another Gram-positive bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus [staph].... We showed that cinnamon presented the higher activity against S. pyogenes compared to the other EOs tested.... 14 [essential oils] showed antibacterial activity against Streptococcus pyogenes.... Among them Cinnamomum verum [cinnamon bark], Cymbopogon citratus [Xiang Mao], Thymus vulgaris CT thymol [thyme], Origanum compactum [oregano], and Satureja montana [Mountain Savory] essential oils exhibited significant antibacterial activity. The in vitro results reported here suggest that, for patients suffering from bacterial throat infections, if aromatherapy is used, these essential oils, considered as potential antimicrobial agents, should be preferred."Link
3.Associated topics: sore-/-scratchy-throat — "[T]he antibacterial activity of lemongrass oil (LG) and its major components (citral, geraniol, and myrcene) against four strains of clinically isolated bovine mastitis pathogens (Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, Bacillus cereus, and Escherichia coli).., as well as their activity on S. aureus biofilm formation [were investigated].... [T]hey inhibit S. aureus biofilm formation and exhibit effective killing activities on preformed biofilms."Link
