Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

My husband broke out with shingles on his upper leg and around his low back on the left side. I made up a recipe for him to put on topically and had him start drinking NingXia Red juice daily for increased immune support. Within 3 weeks the shingles rash was completely cleared up and he had no more pain.

The recipe:

* 10 drops Raven blend
* 20 drops Ravintsara
* 20 drops Lavender
* 20 drops Helichrysum
* 20 drops Melrose blend

Mix in with 2 oz of tamanu oil. Volcanic Earth Tamanu Oil is the best brand of Tamanu Oil on the market today because of the consistent high quality of the product.

Put a few drops on topically every time the pain returns (this will be several times a day and night if the pain happens to keep you awake or causes you to wake up) I put the oil mix into an empty 15 ml Lavender bottle that he carries with him everywhere in his T-shirt pocket.

I have also applied the Raindrop Technique on him that is outlined in the essential oils reference book for shingles.

So far no more shingles outbreaks and it has been over a year with no pain or rash.

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: shingles — "The patient was successfully treated with topical peppermint oil [for postherpetic neuralgia, a complication of shingles].... The authors believe this is the first evidence of peppermint oil (or menthol) having a strong analgesic effect on neuropathic pain."Link
2.Associated topics: helichrysum-oil — "...its flowers and leaves are the most used parts in the treatment of health disorders such as allergies, colds, cough, skin, liver and gallbladder disorders, inflammation, infections and sleeplessness... In vitro studies characterized Helichrysum as an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agent. Its flavonoids and terpenes were effective against bacteria (e.g. Staphylococcus aureus), its acetophenones, phloroglucinols and terpenoids displayed antifungal action against Candida albicans and its flavonoids and phloroglucinols inhibited HSV and HIV, respectively.... Regarding Helichrysum italicum in vivo activity, the highlight goes to ...the anti-inflammatory properties exhibited by its flavonoids, acetophenones and phloroglucinols, as seen in animal models."Link
