One night several years ago after getting off work about 2 AM, I walked up one set of stairs to get to my place, I slipped on something that fell from a tree. My ankle had turned outward and I heard a pop and experienced excruciating pain. I hopped up the stairs. I immediately put on an ice pack.

Later that morning, I made an appointment to see my doctor to make sure it wasn't broken. He referred me to the Ortho clinic and I was given a splint to wear, crutches, told to ice it, keep it elevated and prescribed a pain medicine which I didn't take.

There were no breaks in the bone, but three torn ligaments two on one side and one on the other with swelling. I was told that these injuries take a long time to heal.

I got home and read my essential oils reference book to find what I needed for ligaments and mixed Wintergreen and Lemongrass and put on 3-4 drops on the area and massaged it in. I did it for 2 weeks, 3 times a day.

After the 1st week I was walking without a limp, swelling or pain. After the 2nd week, I didn't realize that I had an injury. Several people who had the same experience told me that they still had problems a year later.

To this day there is no pain. If I'm on my feet for several hours I may have minor swelling but nothing else.
