Warning: Not all essential oil brands are the same quality. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that the oil you are using is made from pesticide-free plants grown in optimal conditions. Also, the brand should be a 100% pure, high-quality essential oil that does not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask trusted friends to find a brand that is reputable.
As a sinus sufferer for over 45 years, I have to say I was more than skeptical when I read other testimonials about the positive effects of Peppermint and Lavender.
I'm also an asthmatic, so when an infection develops in my sinuses (where it usually begins), it's important that I see my doctor immediately for treatment which usually consists of prednisone and antibiotics. Not anymore.
As an experiment, I ordered a diffuser for my car because that's where I spend a lot of my time while driving back and forth to work. I placed Peppermint in the diffuser (4-5 drops). Yes, my car smelled like one giant Peppermint tic tac but the effects were spectacular!
Immediately, my sinuses began to open up and drain. I know, very gross and disgusting but my problem was always the opposite. No drainage - infection would then seep down the back of my throat, make its way to my lungs and voila! Lung infection. Not good. So, a big high five for Peppermint! Woot! Next, I placed Lavender essential oil between my eyebrows. This essential oil is also phenomenal for relieving sinus congestion.
So, by using Lavender and Peppermint together we have the "dynamic duo" of essential oils! Gotta love that. I have been able to reduce the number of colds I experience every year from a high of 4 to a wonderful low of 1! Now, that's huge for an asthmatic and chronic sinus sufferer.
My recommendation (with your doctor's permission!) is to give these essential oils a test run today. What do you got to lose? Uh...maybe a little sinus congestion!
