Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

I have dealt with headaches (and back pain - see my separate testimonial on that) for many years. Most of the time I took 4 Ibuprofen at a time to dull the pain. I bought the 200-tablet bottles 2 at a time!

I was not happy about what effect that much Ibuprofen might be having on my liver. So I was very grateful when I learned about essential oils and their effectiveness for pain relief.

It took me a while to discover the oils that would work for me for a headache. The "usual" ones - Peppermint, the PanAway, M-Grain oil blends, Lavender oil Frankincense - do NOT work for me for a headache.

After attending a Raindrop Training taught by Gary Young, it occurred to me that perhaps some of the Raindrop Oils would be effective for a headache because I experienced such wonderful back pain relief from them. This was an excellent decision.

I discovered that for most of my headaches, if I layer Basil, Rosemary and/or Marjoram and then end with the Valor oil blend - my headache subsides. I apply the oils to my temples and on either side of my spine on my neck. If that does not work, I put a few drops of each oil into an empty capsule and ingest it. That usually stops the headache.

Recently I have had two experiences where neither of these methods worked. In complete desperation (after a horrible headache for 8 hours), I grabbed these same oils and just turned the bottle upside down (one at a time) and dabbed it multiple times down the center of my head, beginning at my hairline at the top of my forehead and on down to the base of my neck.

I have no idea how many drops of oil that was. But the first time I did this method, before I even reached for the 4th bottle of oil, my headache had gone from a pain level of 10 down to a 2. It was instantaneous! I applied the Valor anyway, to drive in those oils and within a short time the headache was completely gone.

The last time I had this intense of a headache, I left 2-3 minutes between the application of each oil (down the center of my head) - still layering the Basil, Rosemary, Marjoram and Valor - but this time I also BEGAN with Valor.

Once I had all the oils applied, the headache had not subsided, so I covered the area of pain with a heat pack and went back to bed. (It was the middle of the night.) I woke up pain-free.

Once the headache is gone, it IS necessary to wash my hair after applying oils in this fashion - but that is a small price to pay for the relief of such a debilitating headache.

By the way, I only use Young Living therapeutic grade essential oils, and the last Ibuprofen bottle I bought is sitting untouched in my medicine cabinet - LONG AGO EXPIRED!

It is a nice reminder of how blessed I am to have been introduced to these oils.
