"I wanted to share some good news with you. As you may know, Sog Dog, our 11-year-old Rat Terrier, was in a fight about 2 years ago. She still struggles with infections, bumps and scar tissue in her neck.
This has meant lots of antibiotic use and draining of the area. She has been given so much antibiotics that the last time she was on them, she exhibited some very odd behaviors.
It got to the point that our vet told me that if the bumps do not bother her appetite, energy level and ability to sleep then we should just let her be. A different vet wanted to do surgery, but our vet does not think that its necessary. He feels the issues may continue to redevelop and that the dog has already been through enough.
