I have had difficulity sleeping for at least a decade. Five years ago I ended up on a sleep med. I really hate taking any type of drug but thought that this was my only option. Sleep deprivation had nearly caused a car accident for me one morning and I knew I needed to do something. I had tried countless other "natural" solutions with no success.
One night I attended a class where it was suggested that Cedarwood might help so I ordered some and tried it. I was suprised by how much it relaxed me and I decided to begin my journey away from my sleep medicine. I put the Cedarwood on the nape of my neck, on my forehead, my temples and the bottom of my feet. I also use Peace & Calming as well as Lemongrass and pretty much apply them in the same fashion. My husband uses Lavender on his pillow and I'm sure I benefit from inhaling that as well.
I am currently taking my sleep med every 4th night versus every night. I look forward to not needing it at all but I am taking it slow. I also use melatonin as I have been told that my body has probably stopped producing it from being on the medicine for so long.
Cedarwood takes the anxiety out of not being able to sleep. So even if I'm not sleeping well I'm not stressing out about how bad the next day is going to be for me. I find that very helpful and I think that I fall back to sleep easier because of the "frame of mind" that it provides.
I truly LOVE these oils!
