My daughter was house sitting and relayed this message:

The water here is nasty. They have a water filter on their fridge that they use for cooking/drinking, but even that water has a bite to it. I can't even describe it--it's not metallic in taste, it's not acidic, just chemicals, maybe?

It's tolerable when the water is cold, but at room temperature, you get the full kick in the face from that taste.

They have bottled water too, but it has a plastic taste to it. I was just about ready to drive to the store and buy a couple glass jugs of filtered water and then I thought... essential oils!

So I did an experiment. I got a glass of water from the filtered water and put a few drops of Lemon oil in the glass. In a couple of minutes, there was a milky film on top of the water. So I got a colander, put a paper towel in it and filtered the water. Then I did it again--there was less film the second time.

Then I tasted it. It still didn't taste as good as our water, but it took the edge off for sure.

Now I'm going to get some coffee filters because the paper towels leave fibers in the water. This will help filter a pitcher of water for drinking.
