Fever blister, cold sore or whatever you want to call them. I get them, and hate them. I get them at two times: whenever I am under a large stress load, or when I am out in the sun too much. Fortunately, I usually only am bothered with them once a year or so.
But oh my goodness they are PAINFUL, oozing and ugly. Once that first tingling and swelling appears, I know I am toast and am in for a week or two of a nasty, painful look. I get the itching, burning and tingling sensations. My lip gets so swollen I talk a little weird, and the oozing crusties, well, let's not go there.
Well, this time when the tell-tale signs started to appear, I grabbed my Essential Oils Desk Reference to see what the Young Living oil protocol might be. Yes! There was something! Actually, a good amount of information was available. What I chose to do was to apply Purification, neat right to the affected area and I could do this 5-10 times daily. I remembered 3 or 4 times daily and it arrested the sore and never blistered, oozed or got painful! After 4 days, it was not even an issue. What a relief!!
Purification contains: Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus), lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus), rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), Melaleuca (Melaleuca alternifolia) lavandin (Lavandula x hybrida), and myrtle (Myrtus communis).
Purification can be used directly on the skin to cleanse and soothe insect bites, cuts, and scrapes. When diffused, it helps to purify and cleanse the air from environmental impurities including cigarette smoke and other disagreeable odors.
Whew and I am so thankful for the all-natural healing properties of these oils that God has put on earth!
