Our youngest son had a tendency of running high fevers. He was also prone to seizures as an infant/toddler so we didn't take fevers lightly. We had a situation where his fever registered at 106 degrees and we rushed to the closest E.R. When we were taken back for vitals during the check-in process we were told they were seeing children with fevers that were higher, due to a nasty flu going around, and sent us home.
Out of panic and desperation I remember learning about Peppermint essential oil for fevers. I looked it up and read to place 2-4 drops into a bowl of lukewarm water and begin sponge-bathing around his abdomen and neck. As we did so, our son told us he could FEEL the heat leaving his body. We took his temperature and sure enough he went from 106 down to 102. A couple of minutes later we checked again and it was 99.8. It was amazing!
We haven't turned back, whenever there's a fever, we reach for the Peppermint essential oil. It is a must in our medicine cabinet.
