Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

When I first started using Young Living oils, my son came to me with a swollen finger. My first assumption was a spider bite so I put a little of the Purification oil blend on it. I learned that it was good for bites.

The next couple of days passed and the tip of his finger literally turned side ways. So I took him to our doctor who did eventually sign up as a YL distributor. His assumption was that he had osteomyelitis and gave him a prescription. My son had x-rays every other day.

Finally I called up my up line, who was Gary Young's sister. She said try her recipe called magic relief formula. The recipe:

* 1 oz V6
* 8 drops Spruce
* 8 drops Sandalwood
* 7 drops Fir
* 5 drops Hyssop
* 4 drops Lemongrass
* 5 drops Helichrysum
* 4 drops Birch or Wintergreen
* 2 drops German Chamomile
* 1 drop Blue Tansy

We went to the doctor and he asked me what I was doing, knowing I was into the oils. I told him but I also stated that he was still on his medication, the doc's main concern.

The next week however without my knowledge of what happened my son showed me a swollen finger on his other hand. I made another appointment in the larger town nearby, Casper WY where his pediatrician resided. When we arrived there, he examined his finger and he assumed the same but had to have his own x-ray. When they came back he did not even discuss anything with me but made an immediate appointment with a specialist.

At the specialist while we were waiting I wrote exactly what I was doing for my son in Nancy's formula as I had a bit of time. When we were there with the new x-rays the doctor informed me that his new swollen finger was in fact broken. He had been playing a finger testing game with someone larger then himself and failed to inform me of this.

Now for the original finger he showed me the x-ray and asked what exactly I was doing. I actually saw where the bone had been eaten away. It was possible at that time a new strain of virus going around. He said he suspected it was something to the tune of caffey virus.

What was amazing was that the bone was improving and regenerating. He said keep doing what you are doing. We didn't need to return to the doctor. This made a believer out of me.

I have never been without the oils since, as Gary Young said many times, carry them on your person. I do every day and find many uses for Young Living products.

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: virus — "The presence of beta-caryophyllene in many essential oils might contribute strongly to their antiviral ability. These results indicate that phenylpropanoids and sesquiterpenes present in essential oils contribute to their antiviral activity against HSV [herpes simplex virus]."Link
2.Associated topics: virus — "Taken together, we found an essential oil blend [Orange, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary] notably attenuates influenza virus PR8 infection in vitro via inhibition of viral protein synthesis at the post-transcription level. The lack of toxicity and potent specific inhibition ability make the essential oil a possible antiviral drug for influenza virus proliferation control and treatment."Link
3.Associated topics: infection — "[We] investigate[d] antimicrobial treatment of an infected [Staphylococcus aureus] cochlear implant, undertaken in an attempt to salvage the infected device.... 5 percent tea tree oil completely eradicated the biofilm following exposure for 1 hour.... Treatment of infected cochlear implants with novel agents such as tea tree oil could significantly improve salvage outcome."Link
4.Associated topics: infection — "The antibacterial activity of 14 essential oils and their major constituents in the gaseous state was evaluated against [respiratory tract pathogens] Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Staphylococcus aureus. [The] oils [with cinnamon bark, lemongrass, and thyme being most potent] and their major constituents were shown to be effective against various bacteria tested.... These results indicate that the antibacterial action of essential oils was most effective when at high vapor concentration for a short time."Link
5.Associated topics: infection — "As proven in vitro, essential oils [Eucalyptus, Melaleuca Alternifolia, Thyme, Lavender, Lemon, Lemongrass, Cinnamon, Grapefruit, Clove, Sandalwood, Peppermint, Sage] represent a cheap and effective antiseptic topical treatment option even for antibiotic-resistant strains [such] as MRSA and antimycotic [antifungal]-resistant Candida species."Link
6.Associated topics: infection — "14 plant essential oils -- anise (Pimpinella anisum), bay leaves (Laurus nobilis), cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum verum), clove (Eugenia caryophyllata), fennel (Foeniculum vulgare), hop (Humulus lupulus), Istanbul oregano (Origanum vulgare subsp. hirtum), Izmir oregano (Origanum onites), mint (Mentha piperita), myrtus (Myrtus communis), orange peel (Citrus sinensis), sage (Salvia officinalis), thyme (Thymbra spicata), and Turkish oregano (Origanum minutiflorum) -- were related to inhibition of 10 bacteria (Listeria innocua, coagulase-negative staphylococci, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Yersinia enterocolitica, Salmonella Enteritidis, Salmonella Typhimurium, Proteus mirabilis, Escherichia coli O157:H7, and Klebsiella oxytoca)."Link
7.Associated topics: infection — "DHEA [a component of PD 80/20], an androstene hormone [precursor to estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, cortisone, and other hormones], has been shown to possess a wide range of beneficial biological effects mainly attributed to immune system modulation.... thus leading to beneficial effects in diverse human diseases including resistance to infection, neuroprotection, wound healing, diabetes, hepatic injury, cardiovascular disease, and cancer."Link
8.Associated topics: infection — "[M]any curative properties attributed to various plants in indigenous medicine are also present in their essential oils.... These oils exert a number of general effects from the pharmacological viewpoint. When applied locally, the essential oils mix readily with skin oils, allowing these to attack the infective agents quickly and actively.... In vitro studies [were] conducted by the author on antimicrobial and anthelmintic [destructive to parasitic worms] properties of some essential oils...."Link
