I found the best sap remover - Lemon oil! Whether you get it on your skin, clothing, soles of boots. Its in a class all by itself and is one of the best ways also to remove any heavy sticky substance from surfaces.

I apply Lemon oil neat on the sap and work it in with my finger, rinse with water and reapply if needed for a larger area.

Typically, the Lemon oil dissolves the sap very quickly and it hasn't damaged any of the clothing I've used it on - nylon shorts, cotton pants, t-shirt, etc.
