Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
I once lived in an area thick with ticks, in the bush and even on the lawn where I enjoyed doing my stretch sets with my cat.
I reacted badly with the first tick bite. It had attached behind the top of my ear. My ear swelled into a giant red thing the size of my palm, hard and extremely painful. The reaction and the poison of the tick went down my neck. Antibiotics were slow to work and it was a painful experience that took nearly three weeks to resolve.
The next time I found a tick on me, it turned into a large, red, and painful swelling quite quickly.
Fortunately I had found Young Living essential oils and applied several drops of the Purification oil blend. This blend was designed to purify and neutralize bites and stings. The neuro toxin of the tick bite was neutralized and it soothed the pain! A drop was put on each time the pain returned, which was about every ten minutes for the first half hour and then less often for the first day.
Within just a couple of days the red swelling was all gone. This was so much better than my first tick experience.
Before we moved from that area, both my cat and I benefited from using Purification oil on paralysis tick bites many more times. My cat did not like the oil, but it saved his life without the expensive vet bills that I had with the first time he was bitten by a tick, where he was hospitalized and questionable whether he would survive.

In vivo analysis and histological assay showed that the two essential oils displayed significant dose-dependent edema [swelling] inhibition effect over time. They displayed strong analgesic [pain-relieving] and antipyretic [fever-reducing] properties similar to that induced by 50 mg/kg of acetylsalicylate of lysine.... This work demonstrates the anti-inflammatory property of Cymbopogon citratus [Lemongrass] and Eucalyptus citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus], suggesting their potential role as adjuvant therapeutic alternatives in dealing with inflammatory-related diseases." | Link |
