This past summer my husband and I decided to buy a new mobile home. To prepare for the old one to be moved out of the way, which had been there for 18 years, some bushes had to be cut down.
The bushes had been there just as long as the home and were surrounded by walkways. So my husband did the best he could cutting them down to the ground but still there were pieces of the stalks still remaining up out of the ground about 6 inches.
Well as things progressed in getting ready for the move all boundaries for my dachshund, Cooper were removed and he was able to run freely. He ran right into one of those bush stems that was sticking up and one of them went right into his chest!
Poor Cooper, that really hurt him and before Young Living I would have rushed him to the vet. Instead my husband and I took him in the house, Cooper being cradled in my husbands arms and I proceeded to stop the bleeding. I dropped 2 drops of Lavender oil right into the hole. Lavender doesn't sting and is such a FANTASTIC oil.
After doing this I sealed it with Animal Scents Ointment and put a non-stick pad over it and wrapped him like a mummy just to keep him from licking it off. He was really sore for the rest of the day, but before bedtime that night we doctored him again exactly the same way.
By the next day he was feeling better and with in 3 days you wouldn't even know he was hurt other than seeing the bandaging. I continued everyday to doctor him twice/daily and I watched the progress. It cleared up from the inside out which is what you want it to do.
Once it started closing itself up, I stopped putting anything on it and let him take over in "licking his wound" and its been a month since that happened and not a mark on him. No scar of any kind.
I just thank God every time I reach for my oils. They are truly Heaven sent.
