My husband had a splinter in his finger. It looked small but it was bothering him. I used a tweezers and tried to squeeze his finger to remove the splinter but a small piece was still left behind - too deep to get out.

He put lavender oil on it before bedtime and then more lavender oil on it in the morning. After his second application of the oil, he squeezed his finger and out popped a 1/4" piece of wood. We are definitely using lavender oil again for those little annoying splinters.
