Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
Recently I learned the hard way; always use glass containers rather than plastic when using quality essential oils.
I put a few drops of Lemongrass oil into a high quality 12 oz plastic container and it made the clear plastic cloudy and etched.
A similar thing happened to a 28.8 oz plastic water bottle I take to gym. I tried cleaning both with soap and water, then white vinegar, then Thieves Household cleaner. I had no success, and both items are now ruined. I guess its true that essential oils have the power to break down chemicals.
Undiluted essential oils are solvents and highly volatile in nature. Due to this property, essential oils should not be stored in plastic containers or mixed with water and stored in a plastic bottle.
The Lemongrass however tastes good in the water!
