We're renting an older house in Oklahoma and have had an ant problem nearly year round. The landlord has paid for the local exterminator to come over, spray in and outside the home but the insects and pests haven't improved much.
One day I was looking at the bedroom window while I was on the phone with a friend and noticed a trail of bigger (3 section) ants coming up and down the window and had something white attached to them ( a friend informed me they were ant eggs) so they would increase quickly.
I took my Thieves cleaner spray (1 capful cleaner to 32 oz distilled water in a spray bottle) I drenched the inside of the window all around the edge of it. My husband then took the bottle outside and sprayed the remainder of the bottle outside where he could see them coming from.
Within 20 minutes I noticed the ants were gone, some dead on the window sill along with ant eggs. I called my husband into the room for him to see because I was amazed at the results!
The room smelled wonderful, the ants haven't returned in months!
