My 11 year old daughter got a hobo spider bite on the left side of the face. It happened during the night so the venom had lots of time to work on damaging her skin. We immediately put on the Purification oil blend, Lavender oil and added V-6 oil to reduce the stinging from the oils.
Because we didn't catch the bite in time, we went to a doctor and he put her on Prednisone and an antibiotic. He said the medicines wouldn't help prevent scarring though and she was given a consult to a wound specialist to have the black dead skin on her cheek scraped off.
I knew the 3 oils we were using would clear up the skin though, and sure enough they did! Not a single scar and absolutely no discoloration!
She had been bitten by hobo spiders before while she was awake and was able to immediately add Purification to the bite and there was absolutely no reaction from the bite. But unfortunately this time, she was sleeping so the venom had time to work it's damage.
We also applied wet cold packs over the oils and wet warm packs, intermittently, to help the oils go deep into the skin. However we didn't want the venom to go deeper into the skin so only used the wet warm packs a couple of times the first day. It took about a week to resolve itself completely.
We will post pictures later as it was a big, nasty, terrible, swollen ulcer on her face!
