Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

I have used a few different methods utilizing essential oils for sinus colds. Amazingly enough, all have worked for me but this method was the most amazing.

I remember one day waking up with a horrible sinus headache. My normal M-Grain oil blend would not touch it. I could not breathe and was tossing and turning all night from it.

Finally at about 5 am, I was desperate beyond belief. So I flipped open my laptop and looked up naturopathic methods for sinus headaches. I found a site with a method I had never heard of before. It was called oil pulling. I attempted it and within ten minutes my sinus head disappeared.

Basically, you take a 2-3 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil and first put it into a little container (something the size of a shot glass). Then add a drop or two of Oregano oil, Melaleuca oil, or Eucalyptus oil (or a combination of them all.....depending what you can stand). Mix well and then place in your mouth.

The next part is what grosses people out. You must try to keep this in your mouth for the next 10 to 20 minutes. The key is to swoosh it all over, pulling it through your teeth, under and over your tongue but never swallowing it.

Try to go as long as you can. During the process, apparently, according to the literature I found, it pulls the toxins out through your mucus membranes in your like from under the tongue and your salivary glands. The whole time, your saliva will be collecting.

At the end, you spit it out, still careful not to swallow anything. You will know that it worked, because the spittle will be all frothy and white. Either brush your teeth thoroughly or rinse with lots of clean water to remove the residue. I usually do a combination of both.

I did it several times a day for the first day and my head cold was gone much faster than if not. And any sinus headache disappeared almost immediately.

This oil pulling is apparently something that many do in countries like India. And other oils can be used for different things. Some recipes use essential oils and some don't. And oil pulling is not just used for sinus colds or headaches.

It may not work for everyone but it works for me.
