My father experienced his first jellyfish sting, across one of his wrists- it was a red welt about 4 inches long. He said he was gonna dump some rubbing alcohol on it and i said "no! no no- we'll put OILS on it! it'll HEAL it." and he agreed to give them a try.
I chose Lemon first, for killing any germs, and then Peppermint, to soothe and take down the swelling. After a few minutes, he reported the pain level was greatly reduced to 'tolerable'. and about 20 minutes later, he came to show us that the redness was completely gone, as well as ALL THE PAIN. he was back to normal- he was amazed! as were our other travel companions. I never regret going everywhere without my oils :-)
