Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

My mom suffered with Alzheimer's for almost ten years before I knew; I lived a good distance away. When her speech failed in the ninth year, my father told me over the telephone that she had "Aphasia." They both denied it was Alzheimer's.

At my suggestion, Dad agreed to anoint her feet, neck, mastoid bone, and brain stem with Young Living Essential Oils. The oil blends were Valor, Brain Balance, Clarity and single oils were Frankincense, and Peppermint. These were all applied daily. He gave her the Peace & Calming oil blend, and Lavender oil as needed when she was agitated.

In April, 2008, she asked to stay with me, and moved in with my husband and I (in Florida) for two months. I was devastated to learn how little she could care for herself! My mom had been a most independent woman.

I began an intense nutritional program with her, including NingXia Red juice and digestive enzymes, with other essential nutrients. I taught her my Energy Correction Meditation, which helped the whole process stay positive. (www.shiome.com).

To reduce her confusion and "brain fog" as she called it, I gave her a small protein food snack every 2 hours between meals, and coconut water.

We diluted one part essential oils with one part V-6 oil, and I applied 2-3 drops of them (the blends as stated above) on the brainstem, mastoid bone behind ears, around ears, kidney points on chest, and feet (sometimes temples/forehead) every morning and evening, every two-four hours, and as needed.

To aide her hearing problem, we applied Helichrysum, and Sandalwood on the mastoid bone, behind ears, and sides of her ears.

We diffused the oils at night, and I did a Raindrop Technique on her feet every week. When her feet became swollen, I applied Lemon, Cypress and Peppermint oils and the inflammation reduced within a day or two.

My dad took her home to NJ that summer, and continued using some oils every day, with her prescription drugs. She went to an Alzheimers Day Care Center, and was loved by all -- she was the only patient allowed to help in the kitchen!

Although mom was distressed and frustrated at times, she acknowledged everyone's presence, and communicated her needs through mostly non-verbal means. She knew who my husband and I were until the end. We moved to NJ April 1st to be close to her.

She passed away quietly, peacefully, at home, on April 24, 2009, with the whole family around her. She remained conscious of our presence until slipping into a coma.

Although I feel sad that I was not able to assist her earlier in the disease phase, I know in my heart that our protocol, and our devotion, helped keep her more aware and connected to us.

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: edema-/-water-retention-/-dropsy — "[W]e studied the anti-inflammatory and gastroprotective effects of C. citratus [Lemongrass] and E. citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus] essential oils on formol-induced edema and acetic acid induced abdominal cramps in Wistar rats.... In vivo analysis and histological assay showed that the two essential oils displayed significant dose-dependent edema [swelling] inhibition effect over time. They displayed strong analgesic [pain-relieving] and antipyretic [fever-reducing] properties similar to that induced by 50 mg/kg of acetylsalicylate of lysine.... This work demonstrates the anti-inflammatory property of Cymbopogon citratus [Lemongrass] and Eucalyptus citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus], suggesting their potential role as adjuvant therapeutic alternatives in dealing with inflammatory-related diseases."Link
2.Associated topics: alzheimer's-disease — "[N]utraceuticals derived from such spices as turmeric, red pepper, black pepper, licorice, clove, ginger, garlic, coriander, and cinnamon target inflammatory pathways, and thereby may prevent neurodegenerative diseases."Link
3.Associated topics: helichrysum-oil — "...its flowers and leaves are the most used parts in the treatment of health disorders such as allergies, colds, cough, skin, liver and gallbladder disorders, inflammation, infections and sleeplessness... In vitro studies characterized Helichrysum as an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agent. Its flavonoids and terpenes were effective against bacteria (e.g. Staphylococcus aureus), its acetophenones, phloroglucinols and terpenoids displayed antifungal action against Candida albicans and its flavonoids and phloroglucinols inhibited HSV and HIV, respectively.... Regarding Helichrysum italicum in vivo activity, the highlight goes to ...the anti-inflammatory properties exhibited by its flavonoids, acetophenones and phloroglucinols, as seen in animal models."Link
