I learned of my heart murmur in 1982. Since then I have had troubles on and off. Nothing that alarmed me. But my pregnancy from 6 years ago gave me symptoms of congestive heart failure. Since then every summer it gets worse than the year before. The cardiologist says things are fine, it was just my heart murmur.

This year it was frightening. My heart racing, difficulty breathing, seeing stars, exhaustion, you could see my heart beating through my shirts and feel large fluttering lumps of blood move across my chest from left to right. This was very intense and went on for 3 weeks. I was starting to worry.

My best friend introduced me to Young Living essential oils. I purchased Marjoram and rubbed on directly over my heart area. I applied it 2 times the day I received it and my rapid beats, pounding beats and seeing star calmed down and stopped within 20 minutes.

The next morning I applied it for the third time and they stopped within minutes. I decided to continue applying it once a day for the next month. I only applied Marjoram additionally when I got symptoms. (Which was only about 3 times) I now only apply it when needed.

A couple months later I developed periods of spiking blood pressure. Now I use a drop or two of the Aroma Life oil blend on my carotid arteries. I feel so much better now. I am so thankful these oils have helped me!

Update: 1-2-2018 - I still use Marjoram oil occasionally whenever I could use some support, but not not very often.

At the behavioral level, subjects in the ylang ylang oil group rated themselves more calm and more relaxed than subjects in the control group. These findings are likely to represent a relaxing effect of the ylang ylang oil and provide some evidence for the usage of the ylang ylang oil in aromatherapy such as causing a relief of depression and stress in humans."Link

3.Associated topics: congestive-heart-failure-(CHF),heart — "Myrtle oil (MO) exerts hypoglycemic as well as mild hypotriglyceridemic activity in diabetic animals. The reduction in blood glucose level may be due to the reversible inhibition of alpha-glucosidases present in the brush-border of the small intestinal mucosa, higher rate of glycolysis as envisaged by the higher activity of glucokinase, as one of the key enzymes of glycolysis, and enhanced rate of glycogenesis as evidenced by the higher amount of liver glycogen present after MO administration."Link
4.Associated topics: heart,blood-pressure — "[I]dentifying... the effects of YYA [ylang ylang aroma] on blood pressure (BP) and heart rate (HR) is important in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of YYA. The present results demonstrated that inhalation of YYA significantly decreased the systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Inhalation of YYA also significantly decreased the HRs in 10 leads.... In the present results, YYA caused a reduction of HR and BP, and a relief of the arousal level in healthy men. [consisting of] a blend of oils of lemon (Citrus limonum), lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), and ylang ylang (Cananga odorata)... is effective in lowering systolic blood pressure and sympathetic nerve system activity... of heart rate variability."Link
