Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.
After a disabling accident in 1998 I had one cervical vertebra crushed. The subsequent years found that one by one, the discs on top of the crushed disc collapsed. I have had yearly MRI's that show c4,c5,c6, and c7 as collapsed. These discs, along with lots of connective tissue and muscle, are what holds up our 10 pound head.
The surgeons told me that with every MRI that I had there was no future without surgery. It included herniated disc removal, replacement with metal, and fusion above and below. As the years progressed, I lapsed into immobility, pain, and deep depression.
My "up time" for being vertical was about 6 hours a day. I joined Young Living but did not fully embrace the CONSISTENCY needed to change at a cellular level until summer 2009. I began to use a broad spectrum of essential oils in every way possible. I also took NingXia Red juice twice a day, along with every oxygen enhancing activity I could manage (chi machine, massage therapy, etc.)
I also methodically eliminated every possible chemical from health and beauty products and processed foods that might inhibit my recovery. Diet was a big piece of this. On March 19, 2010 my MRI results were presented as "inexplicable, and remarkable" by my surgeon, who knew I was implementing alternative methods, and only said that if others knew what I knew he would be out of business. I had grown sacs around the crushed vertebrae where my spinal cord had been grinding, creating neural events which I tracked over the last couple of years.
The MRI showed that, inside those sacs was spinal fluid, protecting my spinal cord from touching broken bone pieces. As I had refused surgery, pain killer drugs (especially Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen) in favor of herbal remedies, I now believe that the oils set my body up for regeneration, and the other modalities ushered in the required elements for healing.
My vertical time is vastly improved, I lost 60 pounds of useless fat, and my life is more vibrant and hopeful that it has been since my accident. Oh yeah, and thanks to my diligent physical therapist, I get to look at the 2009 and 2010 MRI side by side anytime I want to smile and thank D Gary Young for his offerings to the world.

3. | Associated topics: depression-/-sadness-/-hopelessness-/-sorrow — "Lavender, mint [peppermint], orange, rose, chamomile, rosemary, and sage were used.... Depression levels in the touch-music-aroma therapy group... showed a larger decrease than in the... control groups [that did not include aromatherapy].... [FMS] symptoms such as restless sleep, headache, morning fatigue, exhaustion, feeling like crying, and bowel complaints were also significantly reduced." | Link |
4. | Associated topics: depression-/-sadness-/-hopelessness-/-sorrow — "Beta-Caryophyllene [component of cannabis, clove, copaiba], a CB2 [cannabinoid] receptor agonist produces multiple behavioral changes relevant to anxiety and depression in mice.... these preclinical results suggest that CB2 receptors may provide alternative therapeutic targets for the treatment of anxiety and depression. The possibility that BCP may ameliorate the symptoms of these mood disorders offers exciting prospects for future studies." | Link |
5. | Associated topics: depression-/-sadness-/-hopelessness-/-sorrow — "A number of essential oils are currently in use as aromatherapy agents to relieve anxiety, stress, and depression. Popular anxiolytic oils include lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), rose (Rosa damascena), orange (Citrus sinensis), bergamot (Citrus aurantium), lemon (Citrus limon), sandalwood (Santalum album), clary sage (Salvia sclarea), Roman chamomile (Anthemis nobilis), and rose-scented geranium (Pelargonium spp.)." | Link |
6. | Associated topics: depression-/-sadness-/-hopelessness-/-sorrow — "Most studies, as well as clinically applied experience, have indicated that various essential oils, such as lavender, lemon and bergamot can help to relieve stress, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders. Most notably, inhalation of essential oils can communicate signals to the olfactory system and stimulate the brain to exert neurotransmitters (e.g. serotonin and dopamine), thereby further regulating mood." | Link |
7. | Associated topics: depression-/-sadness-/-hopelessness-/-sorrow — "The ylang ylang oil caused a significant decrease of blood pressure and a significant increase of skin temperature. At the behavioral level, subjects in the ylang ylang oil group rated themselves more calm and more relaxed than subjects in the control group. These findings are likely to represent a relaxing effect of the ylang ylang oil and provide some evidence for the usage of the ylang ylang oil in aromatherapy such as causing a relief of depression and stress in humans." | Link |
8. | Associated topics: weight-loss,diet — "Z. officinale [ginger] has been used to control diabetes and dyslipidemia [high cholesterol].... The marked rise in body weights, glucose, insulin, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, free fatty acids and phospholipids in serum of the rats that followed 6 weeks of high-fat diet treatment were significantly reduced by Z. officinale treatment.... The present results provide scientific evidence to substantiate the traditional use of Z. officinale in preventing metabolic disorders." | Link |
