Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

I would like to tell you about my amazing story regarding my daughter who contracted Infectious Mononucleosis.
A few months ago my daughter was diagnosed with this disease and was extremely sick with a throat so sore and swollen she could not swallow properly or breath properly when she lay down.

Her throat was covered in white spots and her white blood cell count was off the charts at 19.6. Normal being between 4.0> 10.0. I searched through my essential oils reference book desperate to find a solution as there was nothing the medical profession could do except say this could take months and all she could do was take pain killers and rest.

Page 404 suggested a few oils and one of the recipes were the following:

* 3 drops Thieves oil blend
* 3 drops Thyme
* 3 drops Mountain Savory
* 2 drops Ravensara

At the time I didn't have any of these oils but did have Frankincense and the Abundance oil blend which does contain Clove oil. I applied these oils to her feet and neck every 3-4 hours and ordered from Young Living the exact oils that I needed.

Meanwhile these oils did start to settle down the pain level in her throat. When the oils that I needed did arrive thankfully only a couple of days late, I made up a throat spray using the above recipe and diffused the oils as well as applying the oils to her feet. The next day my daughter could speak properly with little or no pain.

The swelling had subsided and the white spots on the back of her throat had all disappeared.

I must warn you that the throat spray was very bitter to taste and a burned a little so maybe anyone wanting to try the spay method would look into trying to negate the burning with something else. You can administer this formula by putting the drops into capsules but at the time I did not have any.

When we went back to the doctor's a few days later for another blood test, her white cell count had gone down to 9.3! He was amazed to say the least considering he said that this was a full blown case and would take quite a while to settle down.

I am afraid I wasn't brave enough to mention how I did it, but I did walk away with a satisfied smile on my face!

Cheers from Australia!

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: sore-/-scratchy-throat — "The antibacterial activity of 14 essential oils and their major constituents in the gaseous state was evaluated against [respiratory tract pathogens] Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Staphylococcus aureus. [The] oils [with cinnamon bark, lemongrass, and thyme being most potent] and their major constituents were shown to be effective against various bacteria tested.... These results indicate that the antibacterial action of essential oils was most effective when at high vapor concentration for a short time."Link
2.Associated topics: sore-/-scratchy-throat — "Streptococcus pyogenes [strep] plays an important role in the pathogenesis of tonsillitis.... [T]hyme, cinnamon, lemongrass, tea tree, lavender, oregano, clove, palmarosa, or cajeput [melaleuca] EOs [essential oils] are known to be active against Streptococcus pyogenes, while oregano, basil, mint [peppermint], rosemary, and lavender EOs are known to inhibit another Gram-positive bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus [staph].... We showed that cinnamon presented the higher activity against S. pyogenes compared to the other EOs tested.... 14 [essential oils] showed antibacterial activity against Streptococcus pyogenes.... Among them Cinnamomum verum [cinnamon bark], Cymbopogon citratus [Xiang Mao], Thymus vulgaris CT thymol [thyme], Origanum compactum [oregano], and Satureja montana [Mountain Savory] essential oils exhibited significant antibacterial activity. The in vitro results reported here suggest that, for patients suffering from bacterial throat infections, if aromatherapy is used, these essential oils, considered as potential antimicrobial agents, should be preferred."Link
3.Associated topics: sore-/-scratchy-throat — "[T]he antibacterial activity of lemongrass oil (LG) and its major components (citral, geraniol, and myrcene) against four strains of clinically isolated bovine mastitis pathogens (Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, Bacillus cereus, and Escherichia coli).., as well as their activity on S. aureus biofilm formation [were investigated].... [T]hey inhibit S. aureus biofilm formation and exhibit effective killing activities on preformed biofilms."Link
4.Associated topics: mono — "...results suggest that Clove oil can modulate the immune response by augmenting humoral immunity and decreasing cell mediated immunity."Link
