'Seek the natural way'...has been my motto since I was a teenager. God put many plants on this earth: trees, flowers, leafy plants. Some have storng aromas, some are for beauty, but many are for food and medicine. This is the natural way. The term 'aromatherapy' was coined by the French and actually means 'the therapeutic use of aromatic plants'. When I discovered essential oils and realized that here was the very essence of certain plants that could easily be used for healing, cleaning, even clearing out old unwanted emotions I began a journey of discovery and study that is ongoing and excites me still. I find myself falling into a natural rhythm of use of many of these essential oils.
Lemon is very amazing. It is cleansing, uplifting and I use it every day when I wipe down my kitchen counters as I feel it removes any germs or bacteria. I will put a drop in my drinking water to assure more purity. All of the citrus oils, ie, orange, bergamot, tangerine, lime are excellent for cleaning mixing a few drops in water with castille soap I clean out my bathrooms. If I get ink on my hand or paint, a few drops of lemon oil or any of the citrus oils so very easily removes the paint or ink. I always stand amazed and say to myself, 'why don't people know about this?'
I learned about natural antibiotics mixing mountain savory, oregano and lemon in capsules and taken internally for three doses only eight hours apart attacks those viruses that need healing within the body. I had open heart surgery and need to take an antibiotic to go to the dentist. I trust these oils and now use that solely for any need I may have for antibiotics.
Frankinsence is holy to me; myhrr is good for the skin; a few drops of peppermint rubbed into the feet of my ten year old niece helped reduce her fever in a matter of an hour; a drop in water helps an upset stomach...as does a drop of ginger oil. Basil oil is good for your muscles. Lavender is good for so many things...burns of course...but any skin eruptions. Cinnamon and clove oils are two of my favorites as they kill bacteria. I use them daily in cleaning and sometimes put a drop of cinnamon in my hands and rub it all over my arms for the uplifitng smell.
Of course, you need to be careful as some of these oils are so strong they can burn you...so dilute with almond oil or jajoba oil. I would say a tablespoon of carrier oil to one drop of the essential oil. Understanding the chemistry and how these oils work to help heal to me is a life-long pursuit but well worth the effort. I want to be clearer and clearer as to what I am doing and how to teach others. This is my first attempt to share what has been my own 'private' journey. I could go on and on and on but this is what I have to say for now. Enjoy, study and know what you are doing and then have fun in the use of these wonderful 'friends'...the essential oils.
