I took my 11 year old female Shiz tsu Baylee to be groomed. The groomer called and suggested that I make an appointment with my veterinarian as she felt Baylee's anal glands were extremely impacted.
I took her to the vet that evening - March 25th. He examined Baylee, tried to express the anal glands and was unsuccessful. He felt that Baylee most likely had tumours in her anal glands and that surgery would need to occur to remove them. We scheduled the surgery for April 6th.
I immediately started on a regimine of YL essential oil therapy, warm compresses and Reiki on Baylee. The oil mixture consisted of 15 drops frankincense, 10 drops oregano and 10 drops Thieves (all mixed with 100 drops carrier oil). I applied this mixture to her anal glands 3 - 4 times per day. I did Reiki on Baylee each day for as long as she would allow and applied warm compresses to her anal glands for about 10 minutes each day.
On April 6th, I took her in to have her surgery. I requested that the vet take a look at her prior to the procedure (with me there). He examined her and was easily able to express her anal glands - NO SURGERY!! He couldn't believe it and said whatever I did obviously worked.
