Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

I have to tell you of an experience I had recently week with the oils on my foot. I took Papa for a longer jaunt on Thursday to mail a letter. The foot rests on his wheelchair were not adjusted properly (I didn't know), so that they had very little clearance. Consequently I rammed a curb, which stopped the chair abruptly (Papa was fine), but one of the outriggers on the back of the chair rammed into the top of my foot about 2 inches behind the toes.

It was pretty hard, and I knew I would have a big bruise, and probably swollen foot and limping for the next couple of days. I stopped right there, took off the shoe and sock and put a few drops of Lavender on the area, rubbed it in, and continued on our way. A couple of blocks later I again bumped the wheelchair (which has since been adjusted properly, to avoid this), and rammed the same foot in the same place. D'oh! When I got to the house, I put on more Lavender, Cypress, and Lemongrass. The pain was only a slight tenderness, and I continued with my day.

That night when I got home, I stripped off the sock, and the foot looked much better than I expected, with only a slight yellowing around the perimeter of where I had applied the oils. Curious. No pain. I reapplied the same oils and went to bed. The next morning, the foot felt great, and it had a small gray discoloration on the middle toes (outside the perimeter of the oil application). This was the only bruising that showed up!

Next time, I will be sure to apply the oils in a larger area. The yellowing of the night before was indicative of blood being re-absorbed, as happens with an old bruise. A couple of days later the toes are only slightly discolored, and there has been no pain at all!
