I've long had trouble wearing earrings, even 14k gold would make my ears get infected. First I'd itch, then ooze, then just get really swollen. My ear lobe is too small and thick for clip-ons, so unless I could find a way to wear pierced, I was out of luck.
One day a friend said she dips the posts or wires in one of the popular triple antibiotics. I tried that and it was better than with nothing, but still after a few hours the ears would start to bother me.
