My child was born with a white pearl-looking bump on a nipple. At one months of age, her pediatrician said it was full of milk (from my hormones) and should be left alone and it would go away on its own.
About 6 months later it was still there. We saw a naturopath who said it may be a cyst and she wanted to do an ultrasound to determine if we should have surgery to remove it. She recommended using a warm compress for a couple of weeks to see if it would go away. I did the warm compresses for a couple weeks but it did not change.
Later I did some more research and it seemed to resemble a congenital milium mentioned in a couple scholarly articles. A compelling article mentioned that the majority of cases resolved on their own successfully. It suggested that this was preferable due to the possibility of complications from a surgery.
So I just applied one drop of diluted Frankincense oil (1:2 in Olive oil I think) once a day for about a month. One day the white bump had opened and the contents had been emptied (possibly keratin). It looks healed now!
