Like most horse people, we always have some tack in our barn that doesn't get used a lot, and here in Florida, that means it tends to turn green with mold if not constantly maintained.

I have found that using the Thieves Household Cleaner will keep the mold at bay for about eighteen months. Either wash your tack with it or lightly mist or rub down the leather with a solution of one teaspoon to 32 ounces of water. You can always go stronger if you need to.

NOTE: Be sure to test a patch beforehand on your real expensive saddle or other equipment. This solution works really well for us.
