As a teen I was mortified that at least two times a year I found myself suffering a monstrous fever blister breakout that had me looking for the nearest sand pit to bury my head!
Then as I got older the frequency grew to a crawl and finally a stop... until last year. I was just minding my own business and scratching my lip enough so that my husband brought it to my attention. I realized I had that familiar tingle going on that warned me of an outbreak! Nooo!!
So I ran to the bookshelf and looked it up in my oils book. Helichrysum oil? Oh man! Within two days of applying a small amount 3 times a day there was zero sign of a breakout!! Not kidding one bit. Zero signs.
Awhile later I was given the opportunity to test that theory and was nowhere near home. This oil is normally not my standard travel companion.
Two days later I made it home and I have the tiniest little bump trying to rear its ugly head. So I applied Helichrysum oil on my lip, on the back of my neck, and a little along my spine. I repeated this 3 times a day for two days and the only thing I had to show for it was a very small scab! I'm sold!
Helichrysum is now my constant companion! No more cold sores or fever blisters!! I also found out the trigger... an allergy to my favorite nut - the pecan.
