Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

For over a year I suffered daily with a very painful left ankle. Using my stairs was excruciating yet necessary. Each evening my ankle would be painful, swollen and it seemed that the condition was getting worse as time went by.

Going to my medical doctor was not an option because his "go to" is always some sort of drug. I am not a fan of pills.

Then I tried using Galbanum oil, yes, one of the oils mentioned in the Bible. All I did was add 3 drops once a day in an empty capsule. No, it did not work over night. In fact it took about 2 months for me to be able to notice any significant difference. It happened one day as I was going down my stairs it struck me that I was not hobbling or wincing in pain anymore.

I continued to use Galbanum oil daily for about 6 months. After four months I no longer had any pain or swelling in my ankle. That was over a year ago now.

Doing my research I discovered uric acid which, if the body doesn't flush it out, will build up in the joints and cause pain. Galbanum was one of the most frequently mentioned for flushing this acid out.

I will always have a bottle of this essential oil in my collection. I do not take it any longer on a daily basis but I am ready anytime I start feeling the beginning tweaks of returning pain.

I am a huge fan of this natural, easy and body friendly oil!

Supporting Scientific Studies
1.Associated topics: swelling-/-swollen-/-puffy — "[W]e studied the anti-inflammatory and gastroprotective effects of C. citratus [Lemongrass] and E. citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus] essential oils on formol-induced edema and acetic acid induced abdominal cramps in Wistar rats.... In vivo analysis and histological assay showed that the two essential oils displayed significant dose-dependent edema [swelling] inhibition effect over time. They displayed strong analgesic [pain-relieving] and antipyretic [fever-reducing] properties similar to that induced by 50 mg/kg of acetylsalicylate of lysine.... This work demonstrates the anti-inflammatory property of Cymbopogon citratus [Lemongrass] and Eucalyptus citriodora [Lemon Eucalyptus], suggesting their potential role as adjuvant therapeutic alternatives in dealing with inflammatory-related diseases."Link
2.Associated topics: joints — "Ruxiang (Gummi olibanum), the dried gum resin of Boswellia carterii (BC) [frankincense], has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to alleviate pain and inflammation for thousands of years.... The data show that BC extract has significant anti-arthritic and anti-inflammation effects and suggest that these effects may be mediated via the suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines."Link
3.Associated topics: joints — "We have demonstrated that Boswellia frereana [frankincense] prevents collagen degradation, and inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory mediators and MMPs. Due to its efficacy we propose that B. frereana should be examined further as a potential therapeutic agent for treating inflammatory symptoms associated with arthritis."Link
4.Associated topics: joints — "Herbalists treat skin ailments, such as fungal infections (like candidiasis), wounds, eczema, and acne, with lavender oil. It is also used in a healing bath for joint and muscle pain. One study evaluating treatments for children with eczema found [that] it was therapeutic touch from the mother that improved symptoms; in other words, massage with and without essential oils (including lavender) both reduced the dry, scaly skin lesions. Another study found that lavender oil may improve pain control after surgery."Link
