Warning: Not all essential oil brands are the same quality. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that the oil you are using is made from pesticide-free plants grown in optimal conditions. Also, the brand should be a 100% pure, high-quality essential oil that does not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask trusted friends to find a brand that is reputable.
I tend to hold stress in my neck and shoulders. Fortunately I have found that Copaiba essential oil mixed with a little shea butter rubbed into the tight muscles works wonders very quickly.
I mix approximately 3 to 5 drops of the Copaiba oil with about a tablespoon of shea butter. I use Fair Trade Everyday Shea Butter from Whole Foods. It is unrefined and not creamy but rather stiff. The essential oils soften it up and make it easy to apply.
My husband recently had back pain deep in the tissues of his left shoulder. When I first began to probe the area, he complained about it and actually cried out when I found the tender spot. Within a minute of rubbing in the essential oil mixture, he was much better.

One study evaluating treatments for children with eczema found [that] it was therapeutic touch from the mother that improved symptoms; in other words, massage with and without essential oils (including lavender) both reduced the dry, scaly skin lesions. Another study found that lavender oil may improve pain control after surgery."||Link|
|3.||"[T]he effect of essential oils on skeletal and smooth muscle...: The first type of effect on skeletal muscle involved a contracture and inhibition of the twitch response to nerve stimulation shown by a sample of clary sage, dill, fennel, frankincense, and nutmeg; ...lavender reduced the twitch response alone."||Link|
