Note: Not all essential oil brands are the same, and you get what you pay for. If you expect to achieve results similar to those described in this testimonial, then ensure that you are using oils from pesticide-free plants. Also, the brand should use 100% pure, high-quality essential oils that do not contain any synthetic additives. Do your own research or ask a trusted friend to find a brand that is reputable. Buyer beware.

Most everyone knows that the Purification essential oil blend works well to keep the little buggers away. However, I wanted to try something to keep them at bay in the yard that would also be safer and a bit more cost effective than the harsh chemicals.

These insects just love to hang around just outside the door frames of our home. With all the rain we had this spring, I knew that we would have ourselves a cloud at some point.

So I started with 2 ounces of Thieves Household Cleaner diluted with water in a 32-ounce spray bottle. I did not see much results.

Then I went to 3 ounces, which gave better results. Unfortunately the insects were not really staying away.

Next I tried using 4 ounces of Thieves Household Cleaner, spraying up around the doorway when I would first open the door. This really got their attention! Moths really hated it, mosquitoes would fly off and june bugs just got agitated and flew around.

I would also spray all the puddles really well, creating a coating/film on the wet spots. I repeated this protocol every day for about a month.

Now I do not seem to have as many mosquitoes as my neighbors do. I plan to continue to spray the yard after watering for maintenance.
