I notice that, if I have high amounts of sugar too close to bedtime, I am left awake with my legs feeling twitchy, jumpy, or antsy. It is like I have to keep moving them, which makes it difficult to fall asleep.

Rubbing Lavender essential oil on my legs helps to alleviate that feeling of RLS and to calm the nervous energy that seems to be trapped there. I mix a few drops of Lavender oil (depending on how much I feel like I need) with some coconut oil or whatever oil I have on hand.

Then I rub that mixture onto my legs like lotion. I focus on the most aggravated area... where the irritation seems the worst. I use coconut oil as a carrier oil to get a nice, even coverage of the Lavender essential oil all over my legs.

An added bonus is that the smell of Lavender oil is relaxing and soothing.
