I was cooking one evening and burned my hand on the oven rack as I was putting in a casserole. I usually put ice on burns, but I remembered hearing somewhere to try applying Lemongrass essential oil to the burn.
It seems a little counter intuitive since Lemongrass is a warm oil, but I tried it anyway. I put one drop directly on the burned area and gently rubbed it in. The discomfort disappeared immediately and never came back. Also, no burn mark of any kind was visible by the next morning.
One day when my daughter was visiting, I shared this with her after she had burned herself. She followed the same regimen and got the same results.
