I was a virgin when I got married at 24 years of age. I wanted it that way, and my boyfriend helped hold me to that standard. He is a good man, but he had lived with a girlfriend who gave him genital herpes because she didn't have the decency to tell him that she had it. Regardless, he did tell me, and I was willing to deal with this fact of his life.
After eight years of marriage, I did contract this virus. I wasn't overwhelmed by this until my husband left me. He was looking for something illusive... a soul mate. So here I was facing a new chapter in my life with genital herpes. GREAT!!!
Before I found therapeutic-grade essential oils, I used Valtrex or a generic of it while insured, but for eight years I was uninsured and just let the genital herpes take its course. Of course that meant a good week of my month during the months that it would surface.
Quite often the herpes would accompany my menstrual cycle even after a year of a maintenance dose of Valtrex that my doctor hoped would slow the frequency. As soon as I would be done with the maintenance dose, the frequency would continue.
Now, if I feel an episode with the herpes coming on, I simply make gel caps with 5 drops of Oregano essential oil and 5 drops of the Thieves essential oil blend. I take one in the morning and one in the evening, and it stops the herpes in its tracks after the first day.
The essential oils are so supportive of my immune system that if I catch it early enough, the herpes never even develops. The benefits are that I am building my immune system while using the essential oils, and I have fewer outbreaks now.
I never get cold sores on my mouth, but if I were to suffer from them, then this regimen would likely support that as well.
I feel so empowered when I can affect my own health without running to the doctor or just giving up and living with it!
