I am a breastfeeding mom and occasionally have trouble with clogged milk ducts. Recently when I had a clogged duct, I tried massaging the area while nursing, but it did not improve. After a day of discomfort I decided to try Melrose essential oil blend in a warm compress.
I filled a bowl with hot (but not hot enough to burn) water, added several drops of Melrose, dipped a washcloth in the mixture, and then applied it to the sore area. I immediately nursed my baby and pumped any milk that was left over. At that point the clogged duct was no longer clogged. I only used the Melrose compress one time!
