I am very sensitive to gluten. Finally into my mid-twenties, I discovered it to be the source of a number of problems. I had all the typical digestion pains and complaints, headaches, keratosis pilaris (chicken skin), and -- most of all -- FATIGUE.

After eating meals with gluten I would become exhausted, my mind would be foggy, and I just needed to sleep... forever. When I avoid gluten, I actually have energy and feel awake. I never knew what it felt like to have energy!

As anyone with gluten sensitivities will understand, gluten is put into so many unsuspecting foods. So long story short... I ate cheesecake, went to bed in pain, and woke up miserable and exhausted.

Here's what has helped:

For headaches, my number one go-to is Peppermint essential oil. I will put it on my hands and breathe as deeply as I can, and I will put a drop on my temples. If it is a borderline migraine, I will use a drop of Frankincense essential oil on my thumb, press that on the roof of my mouth, and hold it there for a few seconds.

For the physical fatigue, I will apply Lemon essential oil topically to my temples and clavicle area and breathe it in on my hands. This picks me up and helps me get through the day without sleeping it away.
